Parameters

source
Type: System.Collections.GenericIEnumerableT
The source sequence.
count
Type: SystemInt32
Number of (maximum) elements to return.
comparer
Type: System.Collections.GenericIComparerT
A IComparerT to compare elements.
direction
Type: MoreLinqOrderByDirection
The direction in which to sort the elements

Type Parameters

T
Type of elements in the sequence.

Return Value

Type: IEnumerableT
A sequence containing at most top count elements from source, in the specified order.

Usage Note

In Visual Basic and C#, you can call this method as an instance method on any object of type IEnumerableT. When you use instance method syntax to call this method, omit the first parameter. For more information, see Extension Methods (Visual Basic) or Extension Methods (C# Programming Guide).
Remarks
This operator uses deferred execution and streams it results.
